Fur Trade Days
A historic celebration of buckskinners, traders and Native Americans, Fur Trade Days offers fun for the entire family. Toss a buffalo chip, compete in the Colter Run, enjoy live music and carnival rides!

All Day – Buckskinners primitive camp, open to visitors (3 Miles East, ~8 miles south from Museum of the Fur Trade)
10 a.m. – Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Contest, ages 1-18, followed by Story Time (Chadron Public Library)
6 p.m. – Ghosts of Chadron, A Walk Through the Past (Chadron Public Library)
6-9 p.m. – Bands on Bordeaux – The Bar Flies (First Street, between Main & Bordeaux streets)
6 p.m. – Midnight – Mac’s Carnival (East Second & Bordeaux streets)
9 p.m. – Midnight – Live music, Bar D Music DJ (Downtown Plaza, Second & Main streets)
All Day – Buckskinners primitive camp, open to visitors (3 Miles East, ~8 miles south from Museum of the Fur Trade)
10:00 a.m. – Noon – Nerf War (Dawes County Courthouse Lawn)
Noon – 7 p.m. Traders’ Market (Dawes County Courthouse)
12:30 p.m. – Black Hills Raptor Center (Dawes County Courthouse Lawn)
1-3 p.m. – Meet & Greet with Anna Henkens Schmidt & Donald Osborn, authors of “Where We Land.” (Bean Broker Coffee House & Pub)
1 – 5 p.m. – Inflatables! (Dawes County Courthouse Lawn)
2-3:30 p.m. – Marble Round Up (Chadron Public Library)
2-6 p.m. – Nerf War (Dawes County Courthouse Lawn)
5-7 p.m. – Classics in the Park Cruise. If it runs, bring it! (FNBO Parking lot at 315 W 3rd St.)
6-8 p.m. – Pete Butler (Dawes County Courthouse)
6 p.m. – Midnight – Mac’s Carnival (East Second & Bordeaux streets)
6 – 8 p.m. – Pete Buter (Dawes County Courthouse Gazebo, Fourth and Main streets)
9 p.m. – 1 a.m. – Live Entertainment, Eight Second Ride (Downtown, Second Street & Chadron Avenue)
10 p.m. – Fireworks! Great views from the downtown street dance, East First Street (between Main & Cedar streets), the Carnival (100-200 block of Bordeaux Street), or Roger Eaton Soccer fields (Main Street & Norfolk Ave).

7:30 a.m. – Rotary Colter Run, 2-mile, 5k, 10k (CSC Nelson Physical Activity Center) must register online by 10 p.m. July 8, or in-person from 6:30-7:29 a.m. July 9
8 a.m. – Register for Classics in the Park car show (Wilson Park)
9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Traders’ Market Opens (Dawes County Courthouse Lawn)
9:15 – 9:40 a.m. – Parade of Historic Fur Trade Flags (400 Block of Main Street)
9:45 – 10 a.m. – Parade of Puppies (400 Block of Main Street)
10 a.m. – 47th Annual Lion’s Club Parade (10th & Main to First & Main streets)
