The sales are set and special events planned for June 6-8 as part of the first-ever Highway 20 Frontier Finds in Northwest Nebraska.
There are more than 50 sites listed on the sales map in the communities of Chadron, Crawford and Harrison.
“The listings range from individual and multi-family garage sales and business listings to an arts and crafts fair and a steak feed fundraiser. There is truly something for everyone, whether you’re looking for tools for your shop, clothes for your kids, unique gift items or food and drink to fuel yourself for more shopping,” said Discover Northwest Nebraska Director Kerri Rempp.
The Open Frontier Creative District in Chadron will feature several events during the weekend. Businesses will offer extended hours and specials during the First Friday Art Walk June 6 from 5-8 p.m. in the downtown district, and the Youth Perspectives Art Show will host its artist reception and show opener that evening. The 2nd Street Market, which will be in the Chadron Municipal Parking Lot on Chadron Avenue, will feature more than a dozen vendors with unique items on June 7 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Finally, residents and visitors of all ages and ability can tap into their creative side and join Chadron Art Alley in creating its next two murals. Stop by Chadron Head Start or Just Love Coffee from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. all three days and pick up a paint brush.
In Crawford, the library will host a book sale June 7 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., and the Crawford Historical Museum will be open and taking part in the Basket Bless craze all three days from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Stock up on your summer reading list and pick up a unique basket. Crawford’s Old West Trail Rodeo, the third-oldest PRCA rodeo in the state, will be grilling up steaks and offer live and silent auctions June 7 at 6 p.m.
Harrison’s Community Club will sponsor a Farmers Market June 7 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Agate Fossil Beds will host its 60th anniversary celebration all day Saturday with ranch demonstrations, guided hikes and more.
“There are a limited number of printed maps available for the event at the Chadron Chamber of Commerce, the Crawford Clipper-Harrison Sun office and the Longhorn Saloon in Harrison,” Rempp said. “The best way to access the maps is to use the digital versions.”
