Tena Cook, Dr. David Nesheim, and Dr. Kim Madsen will lead a panel discussion, “A Stitch in Time,” about a historical quilt. Nesheim will provide insight into the importance of family antiques, while Madsen will address the importance of vintage quilting.
Cook’s grandmother designed and sewed a 59-inch by 92-inch quilt to celebrate the 14 Post Offices in Niobrara County, Wyoming, that received and delivered airmail during National Air Mail Week in 1938. Later that year, the quilt became the centerpiece for the Niobrara County booth at the Wyoming State Fair. Cook will also share hand drawn patterns and commemorative envelopes.
