All waters in the state of Nebraska are open waters, however, there are waters that have special restrictions in addition to the statewide regulations. The map below shows Nebraska water areas that have restrictions.

Operating a vessel with speed in excess of 5 mph is not permitted in the no-wake areas shown on the map below.

No Boat Areas

The map below shows waters closed to all boats except for Nebraska Game and Parks Commission employees engaged in law enforcement and management activities.

All state fish hatchery areas are also closed to boaters unless otherwise authorized by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

No Motor Boat Areas

The waters displayed on the map below are closed to all motor boating except for Nebraska Game and Parks Commission employees engaged in law enforcement and management activities.

Non-Powered & Electric Motor Boat Areas

The areas shown on the map below are open to non powered vessels and those powered with conventional outboard electric motors. Internal combustion type motors are illegal.
